Sana Mir Signed South Africa 2019 Tour Jersey Auction

It’s always very special to wear this crescent and star, and no athlete can take it for granted. No matter how many times you get this jersey, each time is just as amazing as the first one. This particular jersey of mine (South Africa 2019 tour) is extra special to me personally as I proved to myself, first, and then to every woman in Pakistan that with hard work anything is possible. Pakistani sportswomen are second to none given the right support is provided.

I can relate to Inam Butt and his journey because I know first hand how difficult it can be to make it big in a non-mainstream sport and secure funding or get sponsorships. I know the disappointment when your sport or matches or achievements are silent celebrations – not aired on TV nor covered by media in general – though things are changing (slowly). Inam is a wrestler who has won Gold medals for Pakistan and is yet to get his fair share of recognition, I feel. So, I present this jersey as my support for every Inam Butt in Pakistan who is fighting to elevate Pakistan’s name in his/her sport. I know my fellow Pakistanis will also come forward and support Inam towards his journey to the Olympics 2020 in Japan InshAllah.
